Reset!

By: Tom Burns

A friend of mine recounted a recent experience where a couple that we both know were out running errands.  Twice in one day, they encountered traffic lights that were showing a four-way stop signal.  As we started to discuss what we thought was the prophetic significance of these occurrences, I immediately heard the word, "Reset."

Traffic LightOver the following few days, I kept going back to stoplights and the word reset.  The more I though about it, the more I was convinced that there was a significant meaning in what had happened.

First, since the situation had occurred twice, I felt like this was an indication that this is a settled matter.  God had initiated a reset and it would not be stopped.

Second, since both situations had occurred in the same day, I felt that the timing for the reset was soon.  Not that this is going to happen in the next few days or even the next few weeks, but the reset is for this season, probably within the next year or two.

Finally, since the light was red in all four directions, I was impressed that the reset would impact multiple areas in our society.  Some of the areas that I thought of for potential reset include:

  1. Personal Reset
  2. Church/Religious Reset
  3. Governmental Reset
  4. Economic Reset

But, what does reset mean?  I spent most of my professional career working with computers.  Much of that time was spent providing support for personal computers.  The most common first step in resolving problems was simply to have the user reboot, or reset, their computer.  If this didn’t solve the problem, the next steps involved removing or disabling software, programs or applications, and hardware until the problem went away.  Once the source of the failure is identified, then a corrective plan of action can be developed.

I believe that the coming reset is a return to the basics.  The more firmly we are rooted in the basics of Christianity, the more prepared we will be to withstand the reset.  Jesus described the need for the basics in His parable of the houses built on the rock vs the house built on sand (Matthew 7:24-27Matthew 7:24-27
24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell--and great was its fall.
).  Paul states that we need to build our lives on a firm foundation with Jesus as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20Ephesians 2:20
having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone,
).

The more firmly our lives are built on the rock of Jesus, the better equipped we will be to stand during the coming reset!

  • Amazing revelation. I believe your interpretation is excellent and well received. In our personal lives moving into a new to us home after 45 years in the previous home it is truly a reset. Our desire is to grow closer to God  as we navigate through this reset.
